I gotta say it...

They didn't win the right way and they lost the hits battle. Not a good 2 pts if you ask me.

"one wonders whether the Toronto Maple Leafs can continue to pile up victories playing wide-open offensive hockey"

Is this not the entire build and design of this team? They are now playing to the design of the team and winning using that design and all anyone keeps doing is questioning it, yet all anyone was doing was questioning their inability to play this way when they were losing under Babcock. It's particularly perplexing. If you win and play boring trap hockey, that's winning properly, but if you win and play high event hockey, you're not playing sustainable hockey.

What I've heard from Keefe was the fact that he'd rather be able to score and figure out how to tighten up the defensive zone rather than have to figure out how to score goals.

The team is massively front-loaded. the entire point is to be able to blow the opponent out of the water.

be the best at what you're good at instead of sacrificing it to be okay at what you're not.

For the first two periods for sure. Seemed to expel just enough energy to win. As soon as the Jets tied it.. bingo .. popped two more goals to go up 4-2. Jets exhausted themselves trying to skate with the Leafs. Third period the boys tightened up a tad.

Also remember, this game on the road. Right after New Year's Festives. Glad we got the two points.

Now our next one should be a dandy. Isles craving for bragging rights.

And they seem to use the full dimensions of the ice surface now. I know we've got work to do on the D aspect, but most teams can't skate with these boys for a full 60 minutes.

now.. what about the now powerful Kovalchuk infused Habs?

and with the Habs having "loaded up" (insert laugh emoji here)... what will the Sabres do to break the free fall?

can't believe the Habs fanbase .... so positive a mere month ago... now borderline suicidal

They have to 14 4 and 1 just to have any sort of a shot at the playoffs.

Weren't we in a 8 games losing streak a month ago?

This makes no sense.

I just like seeing the odds of drafting Lafrenière rise.

Habs are done.

Injuries are piling up and they've got too much ground to catch up.

Would take some sort of miracle.

That was my point and the Leafs miracle is Keefe.
Well the point actually was that the Leafs were in the same position a month ago.

perhaps that is the strategy... including getting Kovalchuk...

if that's the case.. .go get Bernier from Detroit and bench Price
